The Artistic Director  -  George Arthur Richford

George Richford is a multi award-winning composer and conductor living in the New Forest, Hampshire. He has held positions at Durham, Southampton and Canterbury

Christchurch universities, Newcastle Cathedral, Romsey Abbe and currently conducts

the Chamber Choir at Salisbury Cathedral. He is a Classical Music record producer

and works with Convivium Records and is an ABRSM examiner. He is a passionate European.

He is an expert trainer of young voices and has recorded and broadcast widely on national radio and television. He is in demand as a conductor and has directed ensembles and lectured across Europe and in America, including for the RSCM America course in North Carolina. He combines this work with a busy composing schedule, published by Universal Editions, Music Sales Novello and Shorter House.

He is committed to programming and promoting music by women, and is drawn

towards 16th century Franco-Flemish repertoire as well as broader European music of

the period.

The Haydn Collective is a marked departure away from his areas of specialisms but a new, immersive activity that will draw on his love of 18th and 19th century music.
